Nose Bleed Weekend to St David's
Well we're off for another couple of days in the saddle, down to Pembrokeshire. Staying in St. Davids this time and having a treat at a very posh hotel.
Just Mrs C and PC this time as Toby is partying in Chester, then got a stinking of piss day on Sunday - sure we'll delete this saying in a few years, but currently Sunday is known as stinking of piss day!!!
We are going down via the Black Mountains this time, trying to actually find the road this time! However the holiday started early and we are off to Fouzi's the night before; and we "bigged" it up in style, including having their Bistecca steak dish!!! Starters, mains, dessert and shots!!!!!
So we're ready to go early on the Saturday morning, very early!! Been up since 5:40 as the excitement was mounting.
though and replenished to carry on.
Road the normal route down to Newtown and then tried to get to Crossgates, but road closed with only 2 miles to go, so had to make a lengthy detour.
Carried on down and took the Black Mountain Road, which we haven't done previously!! Oh my gosh, what a treat! Views spectacular, roads very bendy, no traffic around. Prior to turning off at Llandovery, we stopped at this beaut of a café for some tea. The tea was nice, but the noise from all the machines was just intolerable and we had to get out of there quickly - won't be going back!

Checked in and went to the room. For £279 it was a little disappointing. Comfortable enough and big enough, but just not £279's worth. Here's the sea view - as Basil Faulty said - there's the sea, it's the thing between the land and the sky (in the distance)
The hotel was full of spectacular art and was actually very posh! And we would like some of the art in the house if we can find it! it was rather excellent hotel. Full of older people - obvs they are the only ones that can afford it! It was jolly expensive - we spent £314 on food, beer and wine and that, even by our standards was excessive!
Mrs C looking gorgeous and even PC got dressed up. Deffo going to be a special night and have to say, the food was out of this world! usJt AMAZING. Trout to start, Rib-eye and Halibut, followed by cheese and Port. Finished off with a beer and a rather nice glass of red before retiring, not too early as it happens.....
So off for the ride home. We really didn't expect it to be only 4:02 hours to get home, but the ride was one of the best rides we have ever done. Every traffic light green, no cars, roads perfect. By the time we got back for a pint at the GL, we had only stopped for 19 minutes. A little cup of tea at a very nice café on the hight street in Aberaron.
